St. Andrew's Lutheran Church Call Committee

Call Committee Update

The prayers of the people of St. Andrew’s are answered!

As you know, we spent over 18 months actively identifying and interviewing Lead Pastor candidates from around the country. What an incredible journey and a faith-building experience. We learned a lot about St. Andrew’s, about Lutheran churches around the country and about pastors. We also learned and were reminded many times that God does not work on our time schedule! It was difficult not to want to push, but we learned to trust that God would put the right person to lead St. Andrew’s in front of us at the right time. And He has done that.

At a special meeting on May 15, our congregation voted to call John D. Hogenson to serve as Lead Pastor. Pastor Hogenson has accepted the call and begins his ministry at St. Andrew’s on June 25. Click here for John’s biography.

As St. Andrew’s members prepared to vote, God’s power was clearly at work. He hung a rainbow across the sky right outside the windows on the East wall of the Sanctuary. An awesome sight – and one sign among so many He has given us throughout the call process to remind us that He is preparing St. Andrew’s for an amazing future.

As the Call Committee concludes its work, we thank the members of St. Andrew’s for your support, patience, thoughts and prayers throughout the process. The God who loves and sustains us has answered our prayers. To God be the glory. Alleluia! Amen!

Call Committee

In October 2005, a Call Committee was appointed by the Church Council to identify a new Lead Pastor to recommend to the congregation. Committee members reflected our congregation makeup including background, age, length of membership and congregational activities. The work of the committee has concluded, but we're leaving information on these Web pages in case you have questions on the committee and on the process used to identify and call a new Lead Pastor. You'll also find historical information on our congregation, the position description developed for our new Lead Pastor, and other background information. Thank you for your interest, prayers and input throughout the process.
