Our Mission
Youth Ministry at St. Andrew’s is…a community of young people who are living lives of love, discipleship and service through the grace of Jesus Christ.
Summer 2010 Brochure
Peer Ministry Training
August 8-13, Woodlake Bible Camp, Grantsburg, Wisc
Cost: $125, Registration: Fill out a leader application and attach payment ASAP.
Peer Ministry is a nationally recognized program that is Christ centered. YOUth embody the Good Samaritan story and are taught to reach out to the stranger. YOUth are trained to listen, talk, support and walk alongside others who are in conflict and help them make good decisions. YOUth are encouraged to serve in the church, in their communities and in their schools. This training is also utilized for youth who want to be small group leaders in Confirmation or be camp counselors.
Girls Canoe Day
Tuesday, Aug. 3, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Cost: $25
Enjoy some girl time as we share summer stories, including the adventures of a young woman who serves as St. Andrew's missionary to Slovakia. Bring a lunch for on the river. We will rent canoes in Taylors Falls, spend a few hours on the river, and stop for ice cream on the way home. Invite your girlfriends for some time on the river without the guys. Just girls and God on these boats!
Valleyfair Day
Thursday, Aug. 5, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Cost: $35 (plus food or money for food). Scream your head off on the rollercoasters! Get soaked in the water park, drop faster than gravity, all with your friends on an amazing summer day. Spend the day at Valleyfair with St. Andrew’s. RSVP by Sunday, Aug. 1

Confirmation Camp Leader Meeting
Sunday, Aug. 1, 1-6 p.m., Room 3AB in the Great Hall
This is a mandatory meeting for all camp counselors and resource team members (adult and high school youth). We will be doing our final prep for camp. You will receive the weekly instructions, the cabin assignments and expectations, and learn the Bible studies, devotions, games, songs and other camp activities. We will end our time together by breaking bread and sharing a meal.
Coffee House Concert
“Riverfolk” – Friday, Aug. 6, 8-10 p.m.
Join your friends at The Coffee Grounds, 1579 Hamline Avenue, Falcon Heights, MN for a free folk concert. Cost is donation only. Riverfolk is a local duo of musicians who have been bringing their music to audiences all over the Midwest for the last 10 years.
Summer Mission Trip Celebration
Sunday, August 22, 12:30 to 2 p.m. in the Great Hall
Join with all the summer mission participants at St. Andrew’s for a celebration of our service in the world. We will taste regional cuisine, hear traditional music, and look through photos from the different places we served. Both youth and adult mission trippers want to tell their stories of life-changing and faith-forming experiences from the summer to the entire St. A’s congregation.

Jesus Goes to the Movies
Sunday, Aug. 15, Woodbury Drive-In (meet at church at 5:15 p.m., back at church by midnight)
Cost: $10 plus snacks to share. We will be grilling dinner there and enjoying an old fashioned night at the movies.
Who are we? What are they? How are we us?
Friday, Aug. 20, 6 to 9:30 p.m. - Temple of Aaron - Meet at St. Andrew’s Youth & Sports Center at 6 p.m. and return by 9:30 p.m. Please eat dinner beforehand. We will take a tour of the Synagogue and then go to service. Dress is khaki’s for boys and dress pants or skirts for girls. NO JEANS!
