Sunday School Programs at St. Andrew's

Preschool Sunday School
Ages 3 – Pre-Kindergarten as of Sept. 1, 2006

Preschool children learn foundational truths of Jesus love from committed volunteer teachers. The children meet in assigned classrooms and then gather for a Celebration Time of singing and Bible story drama. The children move to a workshop where they use art, games, and science to investigate Bible stories. At the end of the hour, the children return to their classroom for pickup.

Kindergarten Sunday School

Kindergarten children make the transition from Preschool to Elementary Sunday School. They begin the hour in worship, and are dismissed by the pastor to their classroom in the Great Hall. Dedicated volunteer teachers use art, movement, and science to teach Bible stories in the Kindergarten classroom. Parents pick up their children from the same classroom each week.

Hours: 8:45 a.m. - Begins in worship; finishes at 10:00
10:15 a.m. - Begins in worship; finishes at 11:30

Elementary Sunday School: The Port of St. Andrew’s for Grades 1 – 5

Elementary children experience the Bible through the Workshop Rotation Model of Sunday School. The children begin in worship, and exit when dismissed by the pastor by following large processional flags. Guides lead them to “The Port of St. Andrew’s” and their assigned workshop for the day. Children engage in the Bible lesson through various mediums – art, drama, computers, cooking, science, movement, storytelling, and more. Parents pick up their children from the assigned workshop, which is clearly noted in the Sunday bulletin.

10:15 a.m. - Begins in worship; finishes at 11:30

Saturdays: The Gathering at 5:00 pm

Children begin in worship with their families, and are dismissed by the pastor to a multi-age classroom. Scripture memory texts and Bible stories are taught through hands-on activities.

There is no nursery offered at this worship hour. The Children's Gathering: ages 4 - Grade 3 Children are dismissed from worship and picked up by parents in Room 2. Registration occurs each Saturday evening before worship begins
