Usher Ministry
The Worship Volunteer Teams’ mission is to create the best worship experience possible. When people walk into a church for the first time, the usher that greets them as they hand-out the bulletin is the face of St. Andrew’s.
Because of the large number of worshippers who stream through our doors each weekend, many ushers are needed at each service to ensure a meaningful worship experience and create a welcoming atmosphere for all. Ushers are placed on teams and serve only once every five weeks at our worship services. Ushers are also needed for our special events.
Usher Ministry Responsibilities
- Warmly welcome worshippers
- Distribute worship bulletins
- Assist in seating, especially when worship space is filling and when latecomers arrive
- Collect Welcome Cards
- Collect Offering
- Count assigned section
- Direct communion flow
- Clean up section after service
- Act promptly in any medical emergency by locating the First Response volunteer or alerting staff
