Lectio Divina (Latin for “Divine Reading”) is a traditional monastic practice of scriptural reading, meditation and prayer intended to promote communion with God and to increase the knowledge of God’s word.
There are many ways to practice, but here’s one to get you started.
Pick a couple verses in Scripture – (Psalms are good place to start or favorite verses or stories)
Read that Scripture 4 times and after each one do the following
- Just listen
- What word struck you? Say it out loud and mediate on that word
- What is God saying to you?
- What do you want to say back to God?
