Listening Circles: Exploring Spiritual Direction

Listening Circle Spiritual Direction Events will be held on Tuesdays, Nov. 5 and 19, and Dec. 3, 7-9 p.m.  These Listening Circles will be facilitated by several certified Spiritual Directors, including Pastor Brian Norsman, St. Andrew’s Pastor of Spiritual Formation; Heidi Lender, Resource Counselor; Dr. Jeannette Bakke, retired Bethel Seminary professor and author of Holy Invitations: Exploring Spiritual Direction, and Peg Ruetten, former member of the Board of Directors at Christos Center for Spiritual Formation.

Then if you feel it is a fit and would like to continue, you will be able to sign up for future events at Christos Center for Spiritual Formation in Lino Lakes on Tuesdays January 7, Feb. 4, March 3, April 7 and May 5, 2020.

Weekend Getaway Retreat: Nine Faces of God, the Enneagram and You

Join a dynamic group of spiritual leaders at beautiful Saint John’s Abbey Guesthouse on Lake Sagatan in St. Joseph, Minnesota, as we use the powerful Enneagram as a tool for personal and collective transformation.

We will gather together Friday at 4 p.m., have dinner at 5:30 p.m. and leave Sunday by noon.  Travelling to Saint John’s will be on your own. Cost will be announced. The cost for the weekend is $183 for single occupancy and $153 for a double occupancy room. Price includes the cost for dinner Friday night, three meals on Saturday, and breakfast on Sunday. Traveling to Saint John’s will be on your own.

“My passion is to experience wholeness and to live vibrantly in the present moment,” says Certified Enneagram teacher, Spiritual Director and former Career Counselor Deb Horton, who will facilitate key portions of the retreat. Horton will be joined by other certified Spiritual Directors, including Pastor Brian Norsman, St. Andrew’s Pastor of Spiritual Formation; Heidi Lender, Resource Counselor; and Peg Ruetten, former member of the Board of Directors at Christos Center for Spiritual Formation.

Using the Enneagram as a guide, we will look at nine beautiful ways we are created in God’s image. This time with the Enneagram and Spiritual Direction will help us slow down and pay close attention to our lives that ultimately open us up to new possibilities for healing, love and connection.

The Enneagram is a powerful tool for personal and collective transformation. Stemming from the Greek words ennea (nine) and grammos (a written symbol), the nine-pointed Enneagram symbol represents nine distinct strategies for relating to the self, others and the world.

Sabbatical Musings: Monasteries, Mystics, and Contemplative Photography

Join Pastor Brian Norsman, Pastor of Spiritual Formation, as he shares his contemplative journey through his summer 2019 sabbatical. Take the visual pilgrimage with him into Monasteries, the Life of Mystics, the surprising Cloud of Unknowing, and the many daily photographs that opened the lens of his heart to the holy from within his soul.  Travel with him into the contemplative places that have shaped his current vocation as Pastor of Spiritual Formation at St. Andrew’s.  Come knowing you will be moved deeper into action from a faith stirring from the inside out.

 Advent is a time to wait, listen deeper within, and pay attention newly to the landscape around you.  Come and enter into an interactive primer to Contemplative Photography, a weekly contemplative practice of Pastor Brian Norsman’s, Pastor of Spiritual Formation.  For those that love the art of photography, enjoying or taking pictures, both novices and worldly professionals, this is an experience you will never forget.  The only requirement: bring a few of your favorite pictures that continue to stir your soul.  Join Pastor Brian and a panel team of photographers to explore a mystical contemplative photography practice that will be birthed anew into your Advent journey.
