COVID-19 Preparedness Plan - 8/12/20 The Preschools of St. Andrew’s The Preschools of St. Andrew’s, a ministry of St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church in Mahtomedi, Minnesota is required to have a COVID-19 Preparedness Plan that protects staff, children, families and the community we serve. This plan recognizes the health and safety requirements already required of The Preschools of St. Andrew’s, and is designed to assist our program in meeting the unique needs of our staff and children in care during this peacetime emergency. According to Executive Order 20-48, child care programs, are required to follow guidance from the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to prevent and mitigate the spread of COVID-19. Updated guidance and helpful tools can be found on mn.gov/childcare. Executive Order 20-74, signed by Gov. Walz on June 5, 2020 requires The Preschools of St. Andrew’s to develop and implement a COVID-19 Preparedness Plan that outlines how we will implement MDH and CDC guidelines. The health and safety of the children in our care, our staff, and all families, particularly during this pandemic is our number one priority. The guidance provides specific steps we can take to continue to keep everyone safe while operating during this unique public health crisis. The Preschools of St. Andrew’s COVID-19 Preparedness Plan describes how our program will implement the following components, in compliance with MDH and CDC guidelines for child care programs: frequent handwashing cleaning and disinfecting arrival and departure social distancing throughout the day plans for identifying and excluding sick staff, volunteers and children source control and cloth face coverings workplace ventilation playground use meals and snacks field trips and event communication and training The Preschools of St. Andrew’s will evaluate, monitor, and update our plan as necessary.
