Day Camps at St. Andrew’s

Vacation Bible School (VBS)

June 17-21 (Monday-Friday), 9 a.m. to 12 noon

More than 500 children participate in our hallmark VBS program each year! Our theme, “To Mars and Beyond,” takes us into the universe to explore the wonders of God’s vast creation. Kids will journey through space while learning about timeless Bible stories that inspire faith in God — who is able to do far beyond all that we could ask or imagine!

Day Camp with Green Lake Lutheran Ministries

July 8-11 (Monday-Thursday), 9 a.m.-2 p.m.

Green Lake Bible Camp (near Spicer, Minn.) brings a daytime summer camp experience right to St. Andrew’s!  Each day includes great music, skits, Bible stories, games, and crafts — led by a young adult camp counselor team. The theme “Transformed Community” dives into how our lives are transformed by God for the sake of living in community together. This day camp is held in our Youth and Sports Center, a perfect place for this active camp program!

STEM Camp (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math)

July 15-18 (Monday-Thursday), 9 a.m.-12 noon
Completed Grades 1-5

Summer Camp at Camp Wapo

Summer camp — where fun and faith collide!  Kids get to experience their faith in Jesus Christ surrounded by God’s creation and as part of a spectacular community.  St. Andrew’s is a ministry partner with Camp Wapo (located near Amery, Wisconsin, about an hour from the church), which provides a quality faith-building camp experience for our children.  Nearly 120 participated last summer and we’ve made room for more in 2019!

Wapo One Day Camp Experience (Grades 1-4)

Aug. 7 (Wednesday), 7:45 a.m.-4:15 p.m.

New this year! We are offering this one-day camp experience for 1st-4th graders to get a taste of summer camp. Children will gather at St. Andrew’s in the morning, travel by bus to Camp Wapo, and return late in the afternoon. The program includes chapel worship, beach time, crafts, and large group games. Details (including what to bring) and schedule will be confirmed two weeks prior.  Children register first with St. Andrew’s ($15 cost) and then complete their registration with Camp Wapo, including medical information and liability release, and pay the $35 camp registration fee (for a total cost of $50). Seeds Weekend (Grades 2-3)

Aug. 2-4 (Friday-Sunday)

This action-packed weekend for our youngest campers includes upbeat music, Bible studies, campfire worship, crafts, beach time, and lots of fun games.  The weekend begins with check-in Friday late afternoon and concludes with worship on Sunday at 12 noon (families are encouraged to attend).  Kids are assigned to cabin groups led by Camp Wapo counselors, who provide constant supervision of children; a St. Andrew’s staff member is also normally at camp through the weekend.

All registrations and fees are managed by Camp Wapo and families are responsible for transportation to and from camp.  Space is limited!  Camp Wapo reserves spots for St. Andrew’s until March 15 on a first-come, first-served basis; children on the waiting list may be added as space is available after March 15.  For registration questions or scholarship possibilities, contact the camp directly at campwapo@campwapo.org or 715.268.8434.

Youth Camp (Grades 4-5)

This five-night camp is packed with fun, faith-filled experiences to impact kids for years to come!  Each day includes Bible study, morning chapel, cabin activities, water activities, free time, field games, campfire worship, and more.  The week begins with check-in Sunday late afternoon and ends with worship on Friday at 12 noon (families are encouraged to attend).  Kids are assigned to cabin groups led by a camp counselor; friend requests can be made on the registration form.  A St. Andrew’s staff member is normally at camp through the week.

Wapo Family Camps

New for 2019!  Camp Wapo has opened two weekends of a fully programmed family camp open to all families (July 19-21 and Aug. 9-11).  The program includes large group sessions with a guest speaker, campfire worship, family recreation options, and more.  Enjoy camp together!  For details and registration information, visit Camp Wapo’s website  (select Family Camp).

Family Strawberry Picking

Friday, June 28, 9-11 a.m., at Jacobson’s Pine Tree Apple Orchard

Bring the kids to a fun morning of pick-your-own strawberries. Ride a tractor to the fields and pick away! (Strawberries are purchased by the pound.) Families can come and go through the morning – but look for St. Andrew’s staff and say hello! (Confirm availability and weather information by calling 651.429.7202; strawberry field address is 11388 Honeye Ave. N, White Bear Lake.) No registration required.

Family Baseball Night

June or July (date and time TBD), CHS Field in St. Paul

Bring the family to cheer on the St. Paul Saints! Tickets will be available for pre-order.  Families will provide their own transportation to the game.  All will meet up in the stands at CHS Field. Watch for details and registration information in spring 2019.

Parents’ Night Out

Second Fridays (June 14, July 12, August 9), 5-8 p.m. in the Sanctuary Nursery
Ages 12 months – Grade 5
Cost: $10 per child or $25 family max

Take a break with a night away! Enjoy an evening to yourself, have a quiet dinner, or do a little shopping – while your children enjoy Bible stories, crafts, games and time to play with new friends.
