Confirmation Camp at Camp Wapo: Review

Confirmation Camp was a huge success with 115 middle school youth and 71 high school leaders! We explored the theme “Wonderers” at Camp Wapo through worship, Bible studies, and large and small group conversations. Outdoor activities included field games, gaga and air square, evening campfires, beach time, and a giant foam party — and the weather was great!

Summer Stretch is an exciting summer series for middle school youth that combines morning service projects with afternoon opportunities for fun. Each morning we gather at St. Andrew’s to start with a word of prayer and bless the day.  We then travel by vans to various locations in the Twin Cities for service opportunities with incredible people who have a deep love for their communities.  After lunch, we spend the afternoon having fun together (past experiences have included a waterpark, Mall of America, and Como Park Zoo). The program is led by Josh Carlson, Middle School Youth Minister, and summer youth ministry interns. Join us for Wednesdays of service and fun!  Come to one — or come to them all!

Participant families will receive an email each week with complete details to prepare for the day.  Typically, youth are to be dropped off for check in at the Youth and Sports Center at 8 a.m, with pickup around 5 p.m. Youth should come prepared dressed for the day’s weather (for both inside and outside activities), wear closed-toed shoes (or sturdy sandals with ankle straps), have sunscreen and a water bottle, and pack a lunch or have money to purchase lunch (if food is available for purchase). Specific needs for the day will be included in the email.

July 10: Second Harvest Food Bank and Lake Calhoun
July 17: Open Arms of Minnesota and Minnesota Zoo
July 24: Union Gospel Mission and Sky Zone
July 31: Lyngbloomsten and Mall of America
Aug. 7: Feed My Starving Children and Cascade Bay
Aug. 14: Valley Fair (no morning service project)
