Skipping Stones Ministry

Our Skipping Stones ministry celebrates six moments in a child’s journey of life and faith, reminding them they are a beloved child of God and part of a church family. Each Skipping Stone includes an interactive workshop to support families in fulfilling baptismal promises to nurture faith in their children. We then celebrate and bless children/youth during worship as a reminder that the congregation also promises to encourage families in the life of faith.

First Communion

A child’s preparation for First Communion is provided as one of our Skipping Stones ministries for those in grades 1-5. Children (with a parent) attend a fun, experiential Saturday morning workshop and then receive their first Holy Communion with their family during a worship service.

Third Grade Bible Blessing

Our Skipping Stones ministry celebrates six significant moments in a child’s journey of life and life. The Third Grade Bible Blessing, designed for children during grade 3 (or higher), involves participation in an interactive parent-child workshop and presentation of the Bibles during worship.

Dates for Winter 2022 workshops are TBD.

Children and Youth Music Opportunities

St. Andrew’s offers a variety of options for children and youth (Grades K-12) to be involved in vocal and instrumental music groups. For details and registration for choirs, please visit the youth music page.
