2020 Inclusion Ministry Events
“Race: Power of Illusion” Film and Discussion (Thursday, Feb. 27, 6:45-8:45pm, Great Hall Room 2)
Join the Inclusion Ministry group for the viewing of the third part to the PBS Documentary entitled, “The House We Live In.” Rev. Jen Collins, co-chair of the St. Paul Area Synod Advocates for Racial Equity Work Group, will facilitate discussion after the video about how social institutions “make” race by providing different groups with vastly different life chances. Class is free and all are encouraged to join us at the Community Meal in the Great Hall at 6pm for some food and fellowship prior to the discussion group.
Intergenerational Fieldtrip to the Science Museum of MN’s exhibit “Race: Are We So Different?” (Sunday, March 29, 1-3 pm)
· 1-2 pm: Explore the exhibit on your own; worksheets provided to younger children to help guide them through the exhibit
· 2-3 pm: Middle School Families – Adults will watch a play about race and have a discussion led by Inclusion Ministry Team members
Preschool-Elementary School Families will participate in an activity and short discussion about race, facilitated by Inclusion Ministry Team members. Participants need to provide their own transportation and pay their own entrance to the museum, but no additional fees are required. Please register online.

At St. Andrew’s we believe God gives us our unity in Christ and that we are all in this together. We respect, honor and embrace the rich gift of diversity God has given us. We value every person, are united in common mission and seek full participation of all in the life and work of this church. As we work to reflect the Kingdom of God, we strive to intentionally address the ways that race, gender, ability, sexual orientation, marital status, age, class and our prejudices limit participation, exclude and harm people, communities and the whole body of Christ.
Join Our Inclusion Teams
We have formed 3 teams that will work on strategies to help St. Andrew’s live into that purpose.
Create opportunities for the congregation to become educated around issues of diversity to increase awareness, understanding, acceptance and love of the neighbor.
Explore the systems, departments and ministries within St. Andrew’s to seek opportunities for inclusion of the diversity of God’s creation
Design intentional opportunities where diverse groups of people are walking together with mutual respect, caring, learning and sharing with one another so that all are participating fully in the life of the church as the body of Christ.
