Announcement from Pastor Michael Carlson:
Brian Norsman Assumes New Role as Pastor of Outreach and Mission
As one of the next steps in St. Andrew’s strategic plan, we are looking outside our walls at new opportunities to proclaim Jesus Christ to more people in our neighborhoods and in the world, inviting them into community with us at St. Andrew’s. This more intentional focus on evangelism will be led by Pastor Brian Norsman, who is assuming a new role as Pastor of Outreach and Mission. Brian will partner with other St. Andrew’s ministries to increase awareness and “tell the story” about our signature community events such as the Block Party and Vacation Bible School, as well as our global mission programs. He will also develop strategies for expanding our online worship presence and other digital platforms to provide new ways to connect with St. Andrew’s. Brian will lead our local outreach efforts to create partnerships with other church communities and organizations. Brian’s office will relocate to the Great Hall in the coming weeks.
Brian will continue to provide pastoral support to Children, Youth & Family Ministry programs through sacramental aspects such as Baptisms, First Communion and Confirmation. Mark Jackson, Director of Children, Youth & Family Ministry, will provide executive and strategic leadership for children, youth and family ministry programs and staffing moving forward. Mark joined St. Andrew’s in summer 2016, charged with developing and implementing a renewed vision for these ministries in support of the congregation’s strategic plan. We look forward to growing and expanding our ministries with young people and families in the months ahead.
We are excited to have Brian’s energy, passion and faith guiding us in our outreach and evangelism work!
