Keys of the Kingdom: Living in Crazy Grace

June 19-23

In connection with the 500th anniversary of the Reformation, our 2017 VBS will explore ways in which Martin Luther shaped the church we see today and how, through Christ, we are invited to live in God’s amazing grace. Kids will experience dramatic stories from the Bible and Luther’s time through an exciting mix of Bible teaching, music, skits, arts and crafts, games, and more!

Participant Information:

Preschool (age 3 by 1/1/17 through age 5): Your child will begin with their age group in a homeroom classroom in the Sanctuary building. After a brief time to gather the whole small group, preschoolers will join the Elementary students for a portion of Opening Worship for exciting songs and a quick peek at our Bible topic for the day. Once dismissed from worship, preschoolers will travel with their crews to a full variety of stations, including Music, Games, Snack, Crafts, and Bible Story Time.

Elementary (Completed K-Grade 5): Your child will be with a crew of kids in their age group. Each small group is assigned a row in the Sanctuary; drop off of your child at that row. The morning includes a fun time of worship with exciting songs, skits and a sneak peek at the Bible topic for the day. After worship, groups will rotate through a variety of stations, including Music, Games, Snack, Crafts, and Bible Story time. The Elementary students will end with closing worship in the Sanctuary and wait for parents to pick them up in the same row as drop off.

God Squad Junior Leaders (Completed Grades 6-8) Information:

Two required training sessions:

Session 1: Choose either Thursday, June 15 (during Confirmation Camp) or Saturday, June 17, 10 a.m.

Session 2: Sunday, June 18, 11:45 a.m.

God Squad is our Junior Leader program that provides opportunities for our middle school students to work alongside high school and adult volunteers to lead an amazing VBS experience for children.  God Squad leaders might run games, make crafts, be buddies to kids who need help, or play with children of all ages — wherever help is needed!  God Squad will meet in the Gym at 8:30 a.m. for morning devotions and check-in. From there they head to their assignments for the morning. God Squad leaders are invited to Friday’s Appreciation Lunch and a special “thank you” party following.  For more information about God Squad, contact Josh Carlson at 651.762.9168 or jcarlson@saintandrews.org.
