- BE A SITE HOST. We are again going to have site hosts! Site hosts bring ice and a mid-morning snack; welcome volunteers with a devotion/prayer; prepare coffee, drinks and snacks; help with lunch setup and ensure volunteers are hydrated. - PROVIDE AND SERVE LUNCH. Great lunches are a tradition at St. Andrew’s and we have missed them these last two years! Each of our 19 days we will need volunteers to bring and serve a delicious lunch for 20 volunteers and staff. Sign up to bring lunch using the online registration link. Questions? Contact Vicki Henry, virohenry@comcast.net.
- VOLUNTEER AS A CONSTRUCTION TEAM MEMBER. Volunteers must wear sturdy, closed toe, closed heel shoes to participate (tennis shoes or work boots are great). Youth under 16 are not allowed on site; all 16-17 year olds on site must be accompanied by an adult 21 or older. Please bring work gloves and refillable water bottles to the site. About
More about Habitat for Humanity
2022 is the 31st year St. Andrew’s has helped a family achieve home ownership. St. Andrew’s has a reputation of providing the most volunteers and sponsorship dollars of any church in the Twin Cities. Habitat for Humanity does not give away homes. Homeowners pay a mortgage with payments set for 30% of their income. Homeowners are carefully selected from applicants; only one in ten qualified applicants is offered one of the 50-60 homes built each year by volunteers and Habitat families here in the Twin Cities.
Your Prayers and Financial Support is Critical
We are asked to raise $30,000 to pay for the materials we will use during our weeks of building. If you give directly to Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity, please ask that your donation be credited to St. Andrew’s. Go to saintandrews.org/give, and choose Habitat from the dropdown menu.
Here is what your gift to Habitat will buy:
$10 = Box of Nails
$100 = Kitchen Sink
$150 = Front Door
$1000 = Wallboard
PRICELESS = Building a house and new friendships with fellow volunteers to help a family get a decent and affordable home.
