2018 Habitat Project

Habitat for Humanity is a great way to put your faith into action! We will be building a new home at 3695 St. Regis Drive in White Bear Lake beginning the week of June 11 and continuing the weeks of June 25, July 9, and July 16.

Sign up to help

Sign up online to build, bring food, donate snacks and beverages, or be a site host. No experience is necessary (age 16 minimum).  Contact David Schrader at 651.689.1447 with sign-up questions.  For meal/site host questions, contact Lynn Hamblin at 651.653.1676.  For other questions or more information, contact Dave Engh, 651.334.1459.

Fundraising

We need to raise $30,000 to pay for the materials we will use during our four weeks of building. A special offering will be taken at services May 5-6. You can also give online.  Habitat for Humanity is not funded through the regular church budget.

Here is what your gift to Habitat will buy:
$10 = Box of Nails
$50 = Low Flow Toilet
$75 = Window
$100 = Kitchen Sink
$150 = Front Door
$1000 = Wallboard
$2000 = Flooring

2018 is the 27th year St. Andrew’s has helped a family achieve home ownership. Habitat for Humanity is not a charity program. Homeowners make their down payment with 300-500 hours of “sweat equity”, and then pay a zero interest mortgage for the actual cost of the house. Homeowners are carefully selected from needy applicants; only one in ten qualified applicants is offered one of the 60 homes built each year by volunteers and Habitat families here in the Twin Cities.
