2019 Habitat Project

Habitat for Humanity is a great way to put your faith into action! We will be doing construction on a townhome project in Hugo (14933 Generation Avenue, 1/2 mile east of Highway 61 on 147th.) Building will take place the weeks of June 3 and 10, and July 8 and 15, 2019. Sign up early and plan your vacation days!  Fridays June 7 and 14 are official Women Build days (but men are welcome too)!

Sign up to help

Sign up online to build, bring food, donate snacks and beverages, or be a site host. No experience is necessary (age 16 minimum).  Contact David Schrader at 651.689.1447 with sign-up questions.  For meal/site host questions, contact Lynn Hamblin at 651.653.1676. or Vicky Henry at 651.707.7961. Fundraising

We need to raise $30,000 to pay for the materials we will use during our four weeks of building. A special Flagship Mission offering will be taken during the month of May.  You can also give online.  Habitat for Humanity is not funded through the regular church budget. If you give directly to Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity, please ask that your donation be credited to St. Andrew’s.

2019 is the 28th year St. Andrew’s has helped a family achieve home ownership. Habitat for Humanity is not a charity program. Homeowners make their down payment with up to 100 hours of “sweat equity,” and then pay a mortgage with payments set for 30% of their income. Homeowners are carefully selected from needy applicants; only one in ten qualified applicants is offered one of the 50-60 homes built each year by volunteers and Habitat families here in the Twin Cities.
