Our Children, Youth & Family Ministry Team continues to find creative ways to stay in touch even if we can’t gather in person. Explore these ways to get involved and stay connected! Stay Connected

Summer Updates

St. Andrew’s is suspending all in-person summer events and overnight trips for children and youth through August. Our team is excited to shape new and creative ways to connect with, serve, and support families in the months ahead – whether online, at a distance, at home, or in-person when it’s deemed safe to do so. Plans for Confirmation Camp and VBS have been announced. Details and updates can be found on our Summer Ministries webpage. The latest email update can be found here.

Cross+Gen Connect

We’re pairing families with a “Partner” – an older member (or couple) of St. Andrew’s or others who might feel lonely or isolated at this time of physical distancing and separation. The goal is to create meaningful connections between generations to learn and share with each other. Families commit to making phone calls, sending mail, and being prayer partners together. Fun, intergenerational topics and prayer ideas are provided.

Virtual Activities and Resources for Children

Video Archive: Miss any of the amazing videos from Miss Beth for Family Frolics or Preschool Chapel, or our wonderful reading of the Dock at Home stories? The children’s video archive is here for you to take a second look or check out ones you might have missed.

Facebook Activities: Offering encouragement and ideas for families to use anytime they need a little break from all the rest!

Faith5 at Home: For the summer, we are changing out format for family faith time. An email is sent to registered families each week with an at-home lesson for children (preschool-5th grade) and families to do together following the Faith5; share, read, talk, pray, and bless. Here is the lesson for June 20/21. The lesson is also posted on our Facebook page.

Preschool Chapel: If you missed any of our Chapel videos, you can find them above in the Video Archive.

Family Frolics: If you missed any of our Family Frolics videos with Miss Beth, check out the video archive above.

Virtual Activities and Resources for Youth

Former and current youth: please fill out this fun, short survey so we can properly capture what is special about the youth program at St. Andrew’s! We’re going to use the responses to create an art project for the youth and sports center!

Game Nights: Middle school and high school youth are invited to join fun, interactive, online games with Josh and Per every Monday night at 7 p.m. Connect to Zoom online hereNote: You may need to open/install ZOOM Cloud Meetings app (on phone/tablet) or click “Open Zoom Meetings” (in web browser).

Accepting Yourself and Others: Our youth staff have created Mister Rogers-style videos on how pre-teens and teens understand themselves and relate to others. Designed for the Lenten Mentor program, they are educational and entertaining for all (appropriate for upper elementary through high school). Find the videos titled “Lenten Mentoring Video” found here (scroll to start with Week 1).

Virtual Events for Parents and Adults

Parent Connect: Grab your coffee and join a brief 20-30 minute “spiritual pause” and check in with other adults/parents/guardians led by Pastor Brian Norsman. Come as you are and take a deep breath after a long week! Future dates will be listed here.

Online Bible Studies: Join a virtual Bible study led by St. Andrew’s pastors. Choose “Tuesday Men’s Bible Study” with Pastor John Straiton (audio on-demand posted Tuesdays), or “Living Hope” with Pastors Mike Carlson and Sarah Breckenridge (live on Thursdays at 10 a.m.). Details here.
